ENERVISION MEDIA INTRODUCES RAPID REDESIGN(sm) SERVICE TO IMPROVE WEB AND WIRELESS USABILITY Prioritizing On Areas of Greatest Impact Brings Quick Usability Fixes

A new service called Rapid Redesign helps organizations resolve usability problems on their Web sites or wireless services. Rapid Redesign is based on an innovative methodology that Enervision Media [www.EnervisionMedia.com] has developed to deliver usable design on any technology platform, including Web sites, Windows software, PDAs, wireless devices, kiosks and interactive voice response systems. By focusing on the highest priority usability issues, Enervisions Rapid Redesign methodology compresses traditional analysis, research, and design processes into an average turnaround time of four to five weeks.

EAST CHATHAM, NY, February 6, 2002 -- Enervision Media, Inc. (www.enervisionmedia.com), a design consultancy specializing in usability research and redesign, today announced a new service called Rapid Redesign, which helps organizations resolve usability problems on their Web sites or wireless services.

Rapid Redesign is based on an innovative methodology that Enervision has developed to deliver usable design on any technology platform, including Web sites, Windows software, PDAs, wireless devices, kiosks and interactive voice response systems. By focusing on the highest priority usability issues, Enervisions Rapid Redesign methodology compresses traditional analysis, research, and design processes into an average turnaround time of four to five weeks.

Rapid Redesign meets the needs of todays Web managers, IT directors, and other managers or executives concerned with usability issues but under time and budget constraints," said Meryl Enerson, president of Enervision Media. Many usability issues can be resolved without a full-scale rebuild of a web or wireless service, simply by knowing how to identify the cause of user pain. By focusing on the areas with greatest impact on the customer experience, a Rapid Redesign provides many of the key benefits of a larger analysis and redesign effort, but can be delivered in a shorter timeframe and on a tighter budget."

In 1999, Into Networks engaged Enervision to direct the redesign of Intos PlayNow entertainment service, which utilizes a proprietary technology to allow the rental of CD-ROM content over broadband. Following field research that identified difficulties in customers experience installing and using the software, Enervision redesigned key navigational flows, resulting in significant usability improvements to the service..

Enervision helped us to quickly and successfully re-deploy our technology," said Vinnie Grosso, chairman of Into Networks, Cambridge, Massachusetts (www.intonetworks.com ). PlayNow went on to become the most widely implemented platform of its kind for the distribution of games and software, and Into Networks now has licensing agreements with such major industry players as Real Networks and Disney Interactive

Another recent client benefiting from an Enervision redesign is One Jerusalem, Ltd., a nonprofit organization with over 100,000 members. One Jerusalems Web site (www.onejerusalem.org) features breaking news, commentary, and scholarly studies on Middle East topics. When One Jerusalem contacted Enervision for assistance in July of 2001, the site had a number of usability problems.

We were getting complaints from members who couldnt find articles they needed," says Jeanine Kemm, One Jerusalems director of corporate communications. The site had no cross-referencing of articles by author or date, and – surprisingly – no search feature. In August, Enervision began its engagement with One Jerusalem, first researching and understanding the needs of the site users (who included scholars and students) and then completely revamping the site design. Enervisions redesign incorporated critical missing functionality, including a search feature, an article archives, and online credit card donations, as well as a revised information architecture and look and feel.

Enervision had a more analytical approach to the design and development process than previous Web groups we had worked with," noted Kemm, adding that Were very happy with the redesign; it is much more focused on the needs of our members." The site was re-launched to positive reviews in September.

Enerson credits the success of such redesign efforts to the firms in-depth analysis and methodology. We consider all dimensions of the interactive experience," she said, adding that the elements of the user experience most conducive to a Rapid Redesign are functionality, look and feel (graphics, language and navigation), and performance. Enerson explained that by targeting one or two of the highest priority usability issues in these areas, a Rapid Redesign can result in an almost immediate impact on one or more of an organizations success metrics for its Web site or wireless service."
