The American Alliance of Service Providers today announces the launch of the AASP Member Network. This member network provides access through several carriers including Qwest Communications and those whom Qwest has agreements with. The pricing is extremely competitive in the industry. It is being offered at a rate on dial-up of below $4.50 per user regardless of the ISPs size. AASP also offers the Broadwing network and is currently working on bringing other networks into the member network.
Founded January 19, 2000, the American Alliance of Service Providers, AASP, is a corporation, which has brought ISPs together to stand in a unified front. The ISPs within the organization are mostly from the U.S. but do include Canada and other countries.
AASPs first appearance was made in Orlando, Fl at the ISPCON. AASP quickly gained ground and the membership grew.
AASP was started as a new corporation that would offer the opportunity to ISPs to come together and cut costs as a group. There are also other benefits that will come from the alliance of these ISPs. In just two years AASP has grown to 800 members serving over 5.6 million end users. These ISPs collectively take over 390 million Webpage hits a month. The members collectively employ over 9,200 people. The AASP website takes an average of over 40,000 hits a month. The visitors are not only members but also non-member ISPs and other Internet related companies.
AASPs mission…
Based on group power, we are focused on helping ISPs prosper by finding new revenue sources for them, by helping them to cut costs and by providing value-added services to their subscribers.”
