David Martin "King David's Throne" CD Release A huge Success
David Martin brought his all-star band to Choices in Benicia for a fabulous CD release party complete with all the trimmings.
(PRWEB / PRWEB) October 17, 2004 -- Benicia fans partied like rockstars at the David Martin "King David's Throne" CD Release Party last night at Choices Nightclub in Benicia. Theatrical spotlights, stretch limos and the arrival of David and the band in their new tour bus gave Benicia a Hollywood vibe for the evening.
Special featured guest artists, Chilean dub star Red-I and Reggae Godfada Rankin Scroo mashed up the crowd along with Deejay J-Marvelous (Jonathan Marvin) spinning the heavy dub.
David and the band then performed songs from the "King David's Throne" CD. A stellar group of musicians, these cats had the crowd on their feet all night long. Drummer Gigi Gonaway (Mariah Carey) and bassist Jimi Fischer (Temptations, Steve Winwood) held down the bottom as virtuoso Biambu Garrett wailed on guitar. Keyboardists Ryan Daisley (Prezident Brown) and Geoff Palmer (Sons of Champlin) provided keys, horns and a plethora of other instruments to create an incredible range of music, from rock and funk to reggae and hip-hop.
Beautiful sequin-clad back-up singers, Joy King and Bridget Marie were joined by special guest singer Anitra Lewis who performed on several track of "King David's Throne"
David's performance was awesome and high energy. Despite a slight cold, David brought down the house with his intense and heartfelt vocals. Fans were excited to see one of their favorite singers performing his original music live from his home base at long last.
Guests were treated to a delicious spread of food and treats prepared by Choices'own "Chef" (club owner) Donna. The band especially enjoyed relaxing on the bus with a special key lime pie (David's favorite) baked just for the occasion. Dear friend and long-time supporter Nancy Ylagan provided the savory eggrolls, another of David's favorite dishes.
Guests received a free copy of David's CD, "King David's Throne". Hopefully all Solano will be rockin' out to this incredible album this weekend.
