This Halloween - Talking to Walls @ Desmonds in NYC
Connecticut pop-rock band Talking to Walls debuts in New York City, playing a Halloween show Saturday 10/30 at Desmonds Tavern.
Newy York, NY (PRWEB) October 17, 2004 -- Talking to Walls will be celebrating Halloween at Desmond's Tavern, 433 Park Avenue South (at 28th Street). Telephone number is 212-725-9864. Doors will open at 8:30pm, admission is $5. Also on the bill will be The Anywheres, The Miscreants and Howlin' Thurstons. Talking to Walls' set begins at 11:30.
Talking to Walls, based in Fairfield, CT, has been grabbing listeners all over the Northeast and across the country for the past few years. While the power-filled solo Talking to Walls shows have been aggressively getting into punk rock clubs as well as coffeehouses, the Halloween show will feature the full band, as energetic as ever. Earlier this year, a solo Talking to Walls show (featuring the group's charsimatic and dynamic singer/guitarist/writer Brian Kelly) won third place, among an evening of full bands, at Long Island's esteemed Downtown, making the band a wildcard entry into the club's RockFight competition.
The band is often compared to the unlikely mix of the Cure, Talking Heads, U2, Green Day, Soul Asylum and Poison.
The most recent album, Two Weeks in November, was released in summer of 2003, and has been followed by its companion EP, two singles and the annual holiday release.
