Computer-Delivered USPTO Patent Bar Exams Available Online

The United States Patent and Trademark Office replaced the traditional semi-annual paper-based Registration Exam (Patent Bar) with a computerized year-round offering on July 26th of this year. Upstart Raising is proud to annouce the release of an emulation of the new USPTO patent bar testing software as an aid to prospective registration examinees who wish to practice for the patent bar under the most realistic conditions available outside of the actual exam.

(PRWEB / PRWEB) November 23, 2004 -- Upstart Raising, an online educational software and services provider, today announced the immediate availability of its new Patent Bar Simulator software as an aid to prospective USPTO registration examinees who wish to practice under the most realistic conditions available. The new simulator mirrors the basic functionality and navigational controls of the computer-delivered patent bar software and combines this authentic recreation with actual test questions from nine previous USPTO exams complete with a hyperlinked Manual of Patent Examining Procedure (http://www.catprep.com/exams/patent-bar/mpep/searchable_mpep.html.

All of the previous patent bar exam material used in conjunction with the new simulator software has been updated to reflect the changes to the law and the rules brought about by the American Inventor's Protection Act of 1999. The new Patent Bar software grades each completed test session and provides the correct answers alongside explanations for each question. Additionally, each completed test session is saved and made accessible for review at any time.

"In addition to serving the needs of individual candidates, our software targets instructors of test preparation and tutoring programs," said Project Manager, Cindy Anderson. "With the ability to capture statistics for each question and report overall and MPEP section-based performance diagnostics for individual students or specific groups, our simulator provides instructors with valuable information not offered by competing products."

The new patent bar simulation software can be downloaded from the http://www.catprep.com/exams/patent-bar/index.html section of Upstart Raising’s website. Instructors, tutors, or other third-party providers interested in bundling the software into their course offerings should contact bizdev@catprep.com.
