Reno Hotel features Country Star Ty Herndon
Country singing star Ty Herndon brings his stylish sound and music to the Peppermill Hotel Casino in Reno, Nevada for one night, Sunday, Feb. 29.
Reno, NV (PRWEB) February 11, 2004 -- Herndon hit the country music scene in the mid ‘90s, and developed his own classic style by fusing neo-traditionalist country with a slick, rock oriented sense of style and production. The blend of these different genres proved to be the key to Herndons rise to the top. His first album became one of the biggest hits of 1995. It was the down-to-earth sense of sentimentality that helped him to rapidly developed a broad fan base
Herndon was born and raised in Butler, Ala., and like so many of his contemporaries he started in music at a young age singing gospel songs and playing the piano.
After he graduated from high school, he followed his dream and moved to Nashville. He stayed in Nashville for 10 years singing demo songs and jingles and joined the Tennessee River boys who were later to become Diamond Rio. He attracted a lot of national attention as a StarSearch finalist and then moved to Texas. There he began singing in local honky tonks and developed quite a following. In 1993 he won Texas Entertainer of the Year. That got the attention of Epic Records which signed him to a recording contract. Herndon was on his way.
His first single What Mattered Most" hit number one in the spring of 1995. Then an album of the same name was released and it quickly shot to the top of the country charts. He followed with a second single, I Want My Goodbye Back" a high energy song that rose to number seven on the charts.
His third single, Heart Half Empty," was also a big hit as was his second album, Living In a Moment which rose to number six upon its summer 1996 release.
The hits kept coming for Herndon. In 1998 he releases his album Big Hopes and a year later Herndon came out with Steam.
