She's the One is Number One at Soundclick.com

Phillip Hardy's gentle Americana ballad, "She's the One" is number one the country charts at the hottest mp3 site on the internet.

(PRWEB) February 24, 2004 --With the demise of MP3.com for unsigned artists, Soundclick.com has now emerged as one of the hottest mp3 sites on the internet, with an estimated minimum of 100,000 hits per day. They currently feature thousands of unsigned artists vying to get attention for their original music. For both signed and unsigned artists, the mp3 revolution has brought profound changes to the music industry. It affords musicians tremendous opportunity to get the kind of exposure that would have been nearly impossible to accomplish a few years ago.

Just under a month ago, Phillip Hardy uploaded three songs on to the Soundclick site in three different categories, including rock, blues rock and the alternative country category. His simple Americana ballad, Shes the One", a song about the struggles and rewards of his 16-year marriage reached number one on both the country and country alternative charts on February 22. To provide a sobering statistic, there are currently 1218 songs on the Soundclick Country Music chart. His blues rocker, "The Drift" is also steadily climbing the Soundclick charts.

In 1988, Phillip wrote STO for his then girlfriend and now wife Kelly; but had long since forgotten about this gentle ballad, until recently. In November of 2003, he re-wrote the lyrics and recorded it along with some new material at a 24-track studio in Los Angeles. Recently, Phillip told Kelly he had a good feeling about this new version of STO. He remembered his brother-in-law told him that he had a dream about this tune becoming a number one country song. However, this was nearly 12 years ago and Phillip ignored this nocturnal premonition. In some small measure, this dream has now become reality on the internet.

After completing a graduate degree in 2003, Phillip has recently played drums with many local LA blues artists and last week he performed at a benefit concert with the legendary Guitar Shorty.
