Entertainers for Bush forms Las Vegas chapter
My name is Dale Davidson and I'm a comedian and emcee in Las Vegas, NV. I thought youd be interested in a grassroots political movement that has recently gotten underway here in Las Vegas.
I was recently named the Las Vegas chapter chairman of Entertainers for Bush." It truly is a grassroots organization that was founded by Wayne Alan, a magician from Annapolis, Maryland, along with several other entertainers.
The idea behind the organization is to demonstrate that not all entertainers are extreme liberal types. Most of us are mainstream family people, entertaining Americas families and families from around the world. We are Independents, Democrats and Republicans. What our membership shares is a belief that America needs to convey strength to our enemies. Terrorists must know that the United States will remain resolute in the face of their challenges. Thats why we believe we must not change Commanders-in-Chief in mid-stream.
(PRWEB) August 1, 2004 -- Dale Davidson, Las Vegas emcee and comedian, has been named chairman of the Las Vegas chapter of Entertainers for Bush." He is calling on Wayne Newton, Danny Gans, Lance Burton and other Las Vegas marquee names to join the effort to re-elect the President.
"Its time we demonstrate that most entertainers are mainstream Americans. Were not all Hollywood liberal types. We are mainstream Americans of every political persuasion who believe our nation needs George W. Bushs resolute strength in the face of terrorist threats. We hope to demonstrate that there are thousands of people in the entertainment industry here in Las Vegas and across the country who support our troops and our President. We hope that our effort will help George W. Bush maintain his forceful leadership for the next four years," said Davidson.
Davidson said his goal is to get 1,000 signatures of entertainers by September 2, 2004 when a series of Bush/Cheney house parties will be held.
"I believe that with a thousand or more entertainers joining our effort over the next month, it will clearly demonstrate that most people in the entertainment community are supportive of our President. The Linda Ronstadts and Barbra Streisands get all the attention but most of us who work in show business are 'heartland Americans' with normal family lives and traditional values," added Davidson.
