Hit Songwriter Eddie Kilgallon & Andra Townsend Honor Families Whose Spouses are Overseas

Hit Songwriter Eddie Kilegallon and Debut Artist have not forgotten the famiiles left behind by writing the Song "Hidden Heroes" portion of the proceeds will go to the National Military Family Association

NASHVILLE, TN (PRWEB) April 28, 2005 -- Andra Townsend, whose brother-in-law is a major in the Air Force, knows first-hand the pain that families feel when the spouse is sent into a war zone to serve his country. Now she and Eddie Kilgallon, the Music Row veteran who co-wrote George Straits No. 1 One Night At A Time," put those feelings into an emotional powerhouse of a tune called Hidden Heroes."

I understand the struggles my sister has gone through," says Townsend, a Kansas product whose indy debut album Andra comes out this spring. `Hidden Heroes is special, and I hope it can touch a lot of people."

It already has. The song talks about how soldiers wives breathlessly check their E-mails, and wait by the phone every day for news about their husbands. In military chat rooms, countless folks have told Andra they cried because it was so true," she said. The soldiers do enough for this country. Its just time people open their eyes to what the families go through too."

Kilgallon was the founding keyboard player in Ricochet, a Sony Nashville band who had a No. 1 with Daddys Money" in 1996. His co-write on the Strait smash One Night At A Time" earned Eddie ASCAP Country Song of the Year honors in 1997. Since exiting Ricochet, Kilgallon has been one of Countrys hottest sidemen, and has found a home playing keyboards for the multi-platinum Sony duo Montgomery Gentry.

A few summers ago, Andra approached Kilgallon in the autograph line after a Ricochet concert in Liberal, KS, and gave him a CD. I look for the desire to want to come to Nashville," Eddie says. Its a hard road and its tough. You have to see the fire in their eyes."

Eddie recognized that passion in Andra, who over the next few years commuted from her Kansas college to Nashville every so often to cut new material. We had to write the song through Cyberspace, via cell phone and E-mail. Andra knows first-hand what her sister went through after her husband was deployed," Kilgallon says. We decided it would be a great idea to write a song about that."

The reaction among military families has been immediate and overwhelming. Part of the proceeds from Hidden Heroes" will be donated to charities supporting military families. Check your local radio station May 1, 2005 to hear the song Hidden Heroes"
