Parasol Peccadillo Announces Bafta Push
Special interfaith screening of Le Grand Voyage will be held at Bafta Princess Anne Theatre Sept. 22. Parasol Peccadillo announces for your consideration BAFTA 2005 Film Awards category: "Film Not in the English Language."
(PRWEB / PRWEB) September 20, 2005 -- Ismael Ferroukhi, director of Le Grand Voyage, will give a special introduction to an interfaith screening of his film at BAFTA, which is being co-hosted by The St. Ethelburgas Centre for Reconciliation and Peace and Parasol Peccadillo. To launch the film Parasol Peccadillo, a special interfaith screening will be held at BAFTA Princess Anne Theatre, 195 Piccadilly W1, on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 6:30 p.m.
The film tells the story of a conservative Muslim father and his disobliging son who take a trip from France together, across Europe, on a pilgrimage to Mecca. The film, which has been internationally praised for its humanity and warmth, embraces the universal themes of generational and cultural difference, and features stunning footage of the pilgrimage at Mecca. It is a film less about religion and Islam and more about faith and humanity.
Le Grand Voyage won the Luigi de Laurentiis award for Best First Film at the Venice Film Festival in 2004.
The event is being sponsored by www.madbad.co.uk
