Ralph Stanley II & Clinch Mountain Boys and Cliff Waldron New Shades of Grass in Warrenton, VA March 19

What happens when you put a local legend and a rising star on stage? You have Cliff Waldron and Ralph Stanley II. Both record for Rebel Records in Charlottesville, VA but the two musical styles are vastly different.

Warrenton, VA (PRWEB) January 6, 2005 -- Cliff Waldron was one of the forerunners of the "Newgrass" sound of the 1970s. He on guitar and banjo master Bill Emerson toured America with their sound. It was Waldron who was the first bluegrass artist to record "Fox on the Run." A song that was later popularized by Charlie Waller & the Country Gentleman. After a long run touring the country in Waldron left the road and music to fulfill a career with the U S Forest Service. In his retirement, he has settled down in Amissville, VA and returned to music. In February 2004, Cliff was honored to receive the living legend award in Nashville, TN from the Society for Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America (SPBGMA).

Ralph Stanley II, is a second generation singer nd rhythm guitar player who has recorded four solo projects on the Rebel Records. His latest release is "Carrying On." His prior release "Stanley Blues" received a Grammy Nomination. The 26 year old is a rising star in bluegrass music. He has worked with his legendary father, Dr. Ralph Stanley for the last 10 years. Stanley was a crowd favorite when he came to Warrenton in February 2002. He and the Clinch Mountain Boys are stronger than ever!
