Western Power Sports Takes on the iCAT

An innovative ignition enhancement device known as the iCAT has been added to Western Power Sports product line for retailers.

(PRWEB) October 29, 2005 -- Motiv International’s famous ignition enhancement device, the iCAT, has been added to Western Power Sports (WPS) range of performance products for sale to retailers in the US.

WPS is one of the largest suppliers to recreational power sport retailers in the United States, with about 3000 outlets selling from their extensive range of products.

The appointment of the iCAT to their catalogue will make the ignition enhancement device more visible to motocross, ATV, street bike, snowmobile and water sport enthusiasts.

The iCAT’s patented ignition system enhancement, delivers a more powerful spark and subsequent benefits include: more responsive horsepower delivery, more torque, cleaner emissions, improved fuel economy and cooler running. It is extremely popular with professional and extreme motorcross.

Previously, the iCAT had limited availability in the United States. “We are delighted that WPS has embraced the performance benefits of the iCAT and their dealer network is a great conduit for sales in the USA,” said Simon Hawkins of Motiv International (who manufacture the iCATs).

“During the past six months we’ve opened up distribution outlets in Spain, Italy, Central America, Scandinavia and South Africa,” Mr Hawkins said. “These are additional to our established presence in Australia and Europe”.

Steady growth of the iCAT market has seen a variety of uses of the ignition enhancement device. “We are further testing iCAT applications, such as jet skis,” Mr Hawkins said. “We have a team of experienced race professionals who will be testing and discovering the best applications for the iCAT as part of our continued research and development program.”

Mr Hawkins said the collection of tests would benchmark the best-case application for using the iCAT on a particular vehicle, craft or on / off road machine.

The iCAT is used by champion motocross riders such as Heath Voss and Christian Iddon. Past and present riders/teams who use the product include: Heath Voss, Christian Iddon, Rob Herring, CAS Honda team, Paul Iddon, Stephen Sword, Tony Rickardsson, Jukka Pirinen, Niko Kalatie, Jocke Karlsson, Rizla Suzuki Road Race team, Redbull Rookies, the Australian CDR Team.

Earlier this year, iCAT moved its headquarters from Northampton to Yorkshire to bring marketing, sales and administration of its products under one roof. The manufacturing division remains in place in the UK's “motorsport alley”, in Buckinghamshire.
