Texas-Nascar Nextel Cup Dickies 500 Race Summary for this weekend.
(PRWEB) November 5, 2005 -- Stuart Kirby and the #51 Marathon Race Team is gearing up for this weekend’s Dickies 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway in Dallas. “Marathon is headquartered just down the road in Houston, so I’m excited to give a good performance as a thanks for all their support,” said Kirby preparing for Thursday’s practice and qualifying. “They’ve been tremendous sponsors.”
Treating this race as a sort of Marathon homecoming, Kirby and the rest of the team have something special planned. “We’re unveiling a brand new car,” explained team owner Joe Auer of Competitive Edge Motorsports (CEM). “This car and engine have tested very well, so we’re looking to put on a good show.”
New Holland and American Eurocopter Come Aboard
In addition to Marathon, CEM has announced two additional companies coming onboard for the weekend race. The first is New Holland, a brand of CNH, a global leader in agriculture, construction equipment and financial services, which will have a decal located in front of the rear tire. The second is American Eurocopter, a company specializing in the manufacturing of helicopters with a plant in the Dallas area, which will have a decal on the lower rear quarter panel. “We are certainly excited to have two great companies join us this weekend,” Auer commented. “New Holland and American Eurocopter seem like a natural fit for our racing philosophy.”
