Georgia Southern Student Lands Songwriting Contract in Nashville
Student at Georgia Southern University signs exclusive songwriting contract and is set to begin recording demos in December of 2005
(PRWEB) November 11, 2005 -- Nashville, TN based music publishing firm, Piney River Publishing/BMI is pleased to announce the signing of Valdosta, GA native, Steven Hall to an exclusive songwriting contract. Steven Hall is a 2003 graduate of Valdosta High School and is presently studies at Georgia Southern University where he majors in marketing.
According to a PRP company spokesperson, Hall was visiting in the Nashville area in July of 2005 when he was invited to “sit in” with well known recording artist Bobby Randall. Randall, a former member of the country music super-group, Sawyer Brown was performing with his band at popular night club near Nashville a when learned from a friend that a visiting college student and fledgling songwriter (Steven Hall) was in the audience and wanted to meet the performer. The two were introduced while Randall was taking a break between performances. After listening to Steven play and sing a few of his original compositions, Randall invited the young writer perform one of his songs on stage with his band, in front of the audience. The phenomenal crowd response to Steven Hall’s songs was by noticed by a Piney River staffer who just happened to be in the audience that evening. “We invited Steven to come in to our studio and cut some demos, just him and his guitar. We wanted to see how he comes across on tape and he just blew us away”
Currently, preparations are being made to bring Steven Hall back into the studio to record some full production demos. However, production dates have not yet been scheduled but it is anticipated that he will begin recording sometime in December 2005.
