Joe Johnston, Dove Award winning songwriter, signs for representation at HCT in Nashville. His songs have appeared on several TV shows, most recently ABC's Hope & Faith. Now his work continues with HCT Music.
(PRWEB) November 19, 2005 -- Oklahoma's wide-open spaces gave Joe Johnston a wide horizon to cast his creative dreams upon, and he did. From national jingles at his own successful ad agency in the highly competitive Dallas market to winning a Dove Award for his hit Gospel composition, Joe Johnston has always seen the big picture.
His songwriting credits include songs for LeAnn Rimes, The Martins, Mark Chesnutt, LordSong, Karen Peck, Brian Free & Assurance, and many more. His songs have been used on All My Children , Hope & Faith, and West Wing. His self-penned tunes have made their way to motion picture soundtracks for Eight Seconds and several indie films.
Joe Johnston's production accomplishments include work on albums by Mark Chesnutt, Kathy Mattea, Alabama, Restless Heart, and the film, Something to Talk About. His production work led to the post of music supervisor on movies like No Regrets and various documentaries and independent film projects.
Not limited in genre, Joe Johnston has had placements of his music and talent in several formats, including country, Americana, Gospel, and advertising/tv use. His creative hand has been used in campaigns for Southwest Airlines, Pizza Hut, McDonalds, and has been used in six of the gold and platinum-selling Gaither Homecoming Videos.
A gifted graphic artist, as well, Joe has illustrated books for Thomas Nelson Publishers, Dalmatian Press, and is on staff at Filmhouse Studios in Nashville. He has run several publishing companies and now administrates and does TV/Film placement for Hippie Chick Twang, for whom he is also a staff songwriter.
To give back, Joe Johnston is also a wonderful teacher of the creative craft of songwriting, teaching seminars across the U.S. and Canada through the Nashville Songwriter’s Association International, coordinating their 30-Minute mentor program. He also co-founded the Marathon Jam Concert, benefitting the National Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Joe Johnston is very involved with Native American causes, and volunteers at Bottomview Farm’s Annual Powwow which raises money for Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, and participates often at the sweat lodge organized at the farm’s many gatherings of the Lakota Sioux.
Joe Johnston plays Taylor Guitars and uses D’Addario Strings. He’s a member of the Gospel Music Association, NSAI, and is a Cub Scout leader-dad.
