300 Delegates from Over 40 Countries Attend HCT MIT $50K Global Startup Workshop in Abu Dhabi
The MIT $50K Global Startup Workshop was formally opened yesterday under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Education and the Chancellor Higher Colleges of Technology. In his opening address, he stressed the significance of incorporating entrepreneurship into education.
(PRWEB / PRWEB) March 25, 2005 -- The MIT $50K Global Startup Workshop was formally opened yesterday under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Education and the Chancellor Higher Colleges of Technology. In his opening address, he stressed the significance of incorporating entrepreneurship into education. He further highlighted the importance of events such as the MIT $50K GSW in promoting entrepreneurial spirit and the opportunity to share best practices among individuals and organizations around the world. His Excellency was followed by keynote address by Fadi Ghandour, CEO of Aramex.
The MIT 50K GSW is organized in conjunction with the Higher Colleges of Technology, and runs from the 21st to the 23rd of March 2005 at the Armed Forces Officers Club. Over 300 delegates from more than 40 countries were represented at the conference, including delegates from as far away as New Zealand, Argentina, USA, Japan, Cote DIvoire, and Scandinavia.

The MIT $50K GSW has become the premier conference for organizers of business plan competitions and promoters of entrepreneurship to learn, discuss, and refine best practices, making it the ideal forum for meeting and sharing ideas with other organizers and promoters from around the world. This three-day conference was first held in 1998 in Cambridge, MA. The event was so successful that the conference traveled to Singapore in 1999, Spain in 2000, Melbourne, Australia in 2001, Bologna, Italy in 2002, Beijing, China in 2003, Cambridge, England in 2004, and is this year hosted in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
