(PRWEB) June 20, 2005 -- The Hudson River Theater located at 521 Warren Street,Hudson,NY on Saturday July 16,9pm will present "Americana Blues" featuring the legendary Paul Siebel,Woodstock legends Prof.Louie and the Crowmatix and NYC blues perennials The Michael Packer Blues Band.
Paul Siebel recorded two classic albums on Electra records in the early 70's "Woodsmoke and Oranges" and "Jack-Knife Gypsy". One of his songs "Louise" was covered Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt and became huge hits for both artists.Siebel's music has withstood the test of time.Rounder Records and Warners UK have reissued both albums on CD.
Prof.Louie and the Crowmatix new CD "Century of the Blues" is currently #15 on the American Roots Radio Charts.The Crowmatix are on tour throughout the US and Canada.Prof.Louie is known as co-producer of The Band's last three albums and his work with Rick Danko who gave him the name Prof.Louie.The Crowmatix have appeared with major acts like Levon Helm and Commander Cody.
The Michael Packer Blues Band are receiving national attention these days with their CD "Bleecker-Bowery".Two songs written by Packer "I'm in Love" and the classic "Bleecker Street" are both in the top ten on the Radiowave published contemporary blues charts at #6 and #9 respectively. Michael Packer has also recorded four albums in the 70's on major labels (RCA,Atlantic) with his groups Papa Nebo and Free Beer. He has performed with greats such as Paul Butterfield and Richie Havens.
