Palo Duro Records Partners with Luckenbach Texas for Exclusive Country Music Series

To showcase the legacy of the Texas Hill Country village of Luckenbach and country music in the Lone Star State, Palo Duro Records has partnered with the tiny town made famous by Waylon and Willie.

Austin, Texas (PRWEB) August 31, 2005 -- To showcase the legacy of the Texas Hill Country village of Luckenbach and country music in the Lone Star State, Palo Duro Records has partnered with the tiny town made famous by Waylon and Willie.

With the first recording project set for early next year, Palo Duro Records plans to produce, market and distribute CD and DVD releases, and host special events, for an exclusive music series to feature Luckenbach Texas and its impact on country music – including the hit that touched millions of people around the world, Waylon Jennings' "Luckenbach Texas (Back to the Basics)." Part of a nationwide vote on Country Music Television for the #1 city-titled song, it evokes the dream of return to a simpler time and more peaceful existence.

Luckenbach is one of the best-known Hill Country hangouts thanks to the late folk humorist Hondo Crouch, and Palo Duro executives say they're proud to be working with the township on such a musically important project.

It is the 10-acre Texas Hill Country hamlet west of Austin where "everybody's somebody" and live music plays every night. It was established as an Indian trading post in 1849, making it one of the oldest settlements in Gillespie County.

The Palo Duro Records label ("Country Music, Texas Spirit") continues to live up to its original mission, one planted deep in Lone Star soil – to release the best of Texas-made music in a way that reflects the authenticity of its artists – while growing a thoughtful, balanced roster of quality acts that includes Two Tons of Steel, Morrison-Williams, Eleven Hundred Springs and Ed Burleson. The music it releases is heard on radio stations from Austin to Boston to London and beyond, answering the demand for the Palo Duro sound by music lovers around the world.
