Sea to Sky Expeditions offers only Guided Hike into Canada’s Newest Arctic National Park, Tuktut Nogait

Sea to Sky Expeditions has received approval from Parks Canada, the Government of the Northwest Territories and Inuvialuit communities to offer guided trips into Tuktut Nogait, northern Canada’s newest and one of its most remote national parks.

Norman Wells, Northwest Territories (PRWEB) April 18, 2006 —
Sea to Sky Expeditions has received approval from Parks Canada, the Government of the Northwest Territories and Inuvialuit communities to offer guided trips into Tuktut Nogait, northern Canada’s newest and one of its most remote national parks.

“We look forward to introducing the world to a unique northern landscape, rich with wildlife and local cultural significance,” said Mark Waldbillig, Operations Director for Sea to Sky Expeditions.

We look forward to introducing the world to a unique northern landscape, rich with wildlife and local cultural significance
With rolling tundra, wild rivers, precipitous canyons, and a variety of unique wildlife and vegetation, Tuktut Nogait (‘young caribou’) is one of Canada’s undiscovered gems. This remote park is located 170 kilometres north of the arctic circle and is home to the Bluenose West caribou herd, wolves, grizzly bears, and muskoxen. It also has the highest density of birds of prey in North America.

The wildlife and land have supported aboriginal peoples for thousands of years, from the Copper and Thule cultures to contemporary Inuvialuit. There is an estimated 360 archaeological sites containing 1000 year old Inuit tent rings, caches, rock alignments, meat drying areas and hunting blinds.

This rugged arctic landscape offers stunning views, brightly coloured wild flowers, and unique opportunities to experience nature. An August departure date presents excellent weather and few bugs.
