Pyramid Design Releases A-OK! The Wings of Mercury 3.7

Pyramid Design has enhanced its space simulator, A-OK! The Wings of Mercury, with improved networked space mission performance. This feature allows up to 10 other users to log on the simulator and act as mission controllers. The educational product, which is avaiable on Windows XP and Mac OS X, also has increased detail in the Mercury spacecraft 3D model.

Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey (PRWEB) May 9, 2006 -- Pyramid Design announces an update to its popular space simulator, A-OK! The Wings of Mercury for Windows XP and Mac OS X.

Many Improvements
A free update for owners of A-OK! The Wings of Mercury 3.5 and later, version 3.7 features many improvements to networked missions in both the main program and the A-OK! Mercury Control Center (MCC):

  • Login can occur at any time before or during a mission.
  • Time displays are visible on top of the main window. This means every console can see these displays.
  • Displays are automatically reset when the mission starts or MCC is disconnected and is reconnected.
  • Display updates are smoother because of faster telemetry transmission.
  • Flight Director console has its own flight plan and checklists and a note pad.
  • Flight Dynamics Officer plotters now have increased accuracy.

Additionally, the following improvements have been made in the spacecraft model:

  • Added more capsule detail including, Destabilizing Flap, Retrorocket Covers and Retrograde Package Straps.
  • Retrorocket flames improved.

"Schools and groups of individuals are starting to run networked missions in greater numbers," states Joe Nastasi, president of Pyramid Design, "so we concentrated on improvements to the networking features for this release. We are very happy to see this level of interest on this unique feature.”
