Desert Views, an exhibition of photography by Lorissa J. Longfellow and focusing on images of the southwest, opens to the public on August 4th. The exhibit is presented by the Spinster, a distinctive yarn shop, in historic downtown Kingman, AZ.
Kingman, AZ (PRWEB) July 18, 2006 -- Lorissa J Longfellow is pleased to announce the opening of Desert Views at the Spinster, August 4 through September 4, with an opening reception on August 4th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Showcasing her “Explorations of the New Southwest” series the exhibition focuses on images and objects from the southwest deserts.
Lorissa Longfellow' photographs are beautiful and at times thought provoking. In explaining her work she says, “The history and beauty of the Mohave Desert inspired me to produce my latest series of photographs: 'Explorations of the New Southwest’."
Ghost towns, National Parks, machinery and cars left abandoned, and sections of old Route 66 are subjects that make up the images in the series. They are images that recall the past grandeur of the objects and reveal how beautiful objects become as nature reclaims them; in general, images that reflect the beauty of the desert in our present day.” To preview Lorissa photos, visit her new website at www.ljdesignphoto.com. Lorissa is a member of the Mohave Artists and Craftsmen Guild and has won awards at local art shows for her photographs.
