Motorcycle, ATV, and Motorsports Enthusiasts Leave eBay for New Internet Auction Site

MotoYard.com functions in a similar way to eBay, but it offers users the advantage of auctions that are specific to motorcycle, ATV, and powersports users. It also cuts costs in half over eBay.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 7, 2006 -- Motorcycle riders who were frustrated with the way eBay handles their specific interests, and unhappy about the rising fees to sell on eBay, created MotoYard.com (http://www.motoyard.com), an online auction service to meet the needs of people who love powersports.

"My partner and I are both motorcycle riders, and we know the sport bike community. We have been frustrated with the rising fees to sell on eBay, plus it is hard to buy on eBay because it is designed for a broad group of people," said Scott Davis who helped create http://www.motoyard.com.

"When you go to eBay and do a search for tires, for example, the results come back with everything from bicycle tires to massive truck tires and everything in between. When you do the same search on MotoYard.com you get more narrowly defined results because we cater to a specific interest. You will only see a list of motorcycle and ATV tires on our site," Davis explained.

The site is privately owned by motorcycle riders and is carefully designed to appeal to people with that specific interest. It is not surprising that the site has rapidly expanded in use and has a large assortment of listings of new and used motorcycles, motorcycle parts, motorcycle accessories, and motorcycle apparel.

The growing traffic to the site has resulted in many completed sales, and the number of buyers shopping the site shows that there is room for many more listings that will result in successful sales as well.

Whether buyers are looking for a unique part, a hard-to-find motorcycle, a sportbike or parts, a street bike, new and used replacement parts, other accessories, or apparel, they can find it at MotoYard.com, and that is why the site has been growing in popularity.

The site has been designed to cost about half of what eBay charges sellers, and new sellers are given a credit of $20 to enable them to start selling with no cost at all.

"We offer auction style or fixed price listings so you can sell your motorcycle, parts and apparel the way you want, and at a much more reasonable cost compared to what eBay charges," said Davis.
