Chocolate Art Show Portland Oregon

Original chocolate paintings by celebrated chocolatier and artist, Jeff Shepherd of Lillie Belle Farms Hand Made Chocolates, are on display the entire month of October at the "Qwirks-of-Art" gallery in Portland Oregon.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) October 9, 2006 -- Original chocolate paintings by celebrated chocolatier and artist, Jeff Shepherd of Lillie Belle Farms Hand Made Chocolates, are on display the entire month of October at the "Qwirks-of-Art" gallery in Portland Oregon.

Composed entirely of chocolate products the small 5"x7" paintings are brightly colored renditions of landscapes, seascapes, and portraits. Using white chocolate as a canvas, edible cocoa butter paint, and hand carved dark chocolate for frames; each edible art piece is a delight for the senses.

"I have been paiting since I was kid and have had showings of my oil paintings in California and Hawaii," said Jeff in a recent interview. "Ever since I started my chocolate company 4 years ago I have concetrated moslty on chocolate as my medium. It lends itself beautifully to the visual arts."

Known nationally for the award winning organic artisan chocolates that he creates in his small kitchen/factory in Central Point, OR., Jeff "The Chef"- as his friends call him- considers his chocolate art a natural extension of his culinary and artistic talents.

"I dont have much time to paint large cavases anymore, so when the pressure of owning and running a small business gets to me I can just make a few, small white chocolate canvases and relax for a few minutes by painting whatever comes to mind."

In addition to the chocolate art a small selection of original oils are on display as well.

"I couldnt resist putting up a couple of my more 'qwirky' paintings in the show. The gallery's owners, Todd and Kerry, are fun to work with. They understand that most people dont know whether to eat them or just look at them. They are truly a 'Qwirk of Art.'"

The show runs the entire month of October at the "Qwirks-of-Art" gallery located at 1602 NE 40th Ave. Portland, Oregon. Hours are Wed. Thurs. Fri. Sat.11am to 7pm and Sunday 11am to 4pm.
