FF Lee, a member of the FDNY Emerald Society Pipes and Drums will kick off the golf event benefiting Amanda Kulick and the children of FF Tim Staepel with the national anthem played on his bagpipes.

Blue Bell, PA (PRWEB) October 26, 2006 -- Golfers and volunteers from the Philadelphia area will come together on October 30, 2006 at Blue Bell Country Club to participate in the 2nd Annual John Kulick Memorial Golf Outing hosted by Empyrean Management Group, Inc. and the Whitpain Township Fire Fighters Association.

The event was created to commemorate the life and service of local Firefighter/Soldier John Kulick who was killed serving his country in Iraq. This year will mark the presentation of the first John Kulick Heroism Award, which will be given annually to someone who dedicated their life to the ideals that made John the man he was. This year's recipient is Philadelphia Federal Firefighter, Tim Staepel, who was killed in the line of duty. All of the proceeds from this event will be placed in trust funds for the future needs of John's daughter, Amanda, and Tim's young children, Shaun and Michaela.

We are thankful for the support of local businesses and community members that have contributed their time and money to make this event a success. We are proud to host this event for the children of these local heroes. Our hope is to not only raise money for the kids, but to pay honor to two men who gave their lives to helping our community
The golf outing will open with a FDNY Bagpiper in full regalia accompanied by the Lower Salford Police Department Color Guard as a tribute to the fallen firefighters and public servants who have given their lives to protecting their communities. The 18-hole scramble will commence at 10:00 AM with a shotgun start.

"We are thankful for the support of local businesses and community members that have contributed their time and money to make this event a success. We are proud to host this event for the children of these local heroes. Our hope is to not only raise money for the kids, but to pay honor to two men who gave their lives to helping our community," said Empyrean Management Group CEO, Michael Kalinsky.

At 4:00 PM a dinner and awards ceremony will be held for the golfers and families of the firefighters. During this time, the John Kulick Heroism Award will be presented to the family of Tim Staepel in recognition of his career, which included saving the life of a newborn infant that had been left for dead. His children will be at the event, along with his best friend, Philadelphia Federal Firefighter Pete Marcinonis, to accept the award. Amanda Kulick will also be present to support the event. A silent auction will be held throughout the day for items donated to the event by various NFL and NCAA teams such as the Philadelphia Eagles, the San Francisco 49ers, the Baltimore Ravens, UCLA, Syracuse University, and many more.
