Cyberspace Film Festival Pioneers Simultaneous Internet / Direct-To-DVD Talent Showcase

New film festival embraces forthcoming Hollywood film distribution trends. Bypassing the traditional big screen theater festival format, the Cyberspace Film Festival conducts a simultaneous Internet / direct-to-DVD showcase of emerging digital filmmaking talent.

Lehigh Valley, PA (PRWEB) October 28, 2006 -- The Cyberspace Film Festival embraces forthcoming Hollywood film distribution trends by conducting a simultaneous Internet / direct-to-DVD showcase of emerging digital filmmaking talent.

Jessica Lynn Ferringer and E. Stephen Zeiner pioneer a new genre of film festival that offers unprecedented exposure and recognition to all participants.

Every short film that is submitted by the December 15, 2006 deadline will be viewable online by the general public. In addition, everyone who participates in the film festival will receive a DVD with the top 25 short films that were submitted as well as other bonus content.

Commenting on the unique format of the Cyberspace Film Festival, co-founder Jessica Lynn Ferringer states: "Some traditional film festival venues offer excellent in-person networking opportunities for aspiring filmmakers. However, the vast majority of traditional film festivals offer little in the way of recognition, feedback, or exposure for the countless thousands of filmmakers whose work is not selected for a festival screening. We wanted to offer an alternative to that."

The two got to work and the Cyberspace Film Festival website opened its virtual doors on October 25, 2006 and is accepting submissions through December 15, 2006.

The web address is: http://www.cyberspace-film-festival.com/

Creating short films is faster, cheaper, and easier than ever before. Thanks to advances in digital video technology, individuals can shoot, edit, and publish a short film faster than ever before.

With the speed and ease of creating short films has come a surge in submissions to traditional big screen film festivals. Only a fraction of the films submitted to traditional film festivals are ever seen by the general public.

The purpose of the Cyberspace Film Festival is to showcase all submissions via the Internet, and to appropriately recognize excellence by including the top 25 short films on the official festival DVD that is mailed to all who participate in the festival.
