Cobra Powersports Leads The Way in 2007 with EPA Certificated 49cc 2-Stroke Scooters

The entire 2007 TGB motor scooter line is US EPA Certified. TGB 49cc and 151cc scooters are legal for all 50-states.

Kennesaw, GA (PRWEB) October 30, 2006 -- TGB Scooters distributed by Cobra Powersports announced they already have 2007 49cc 2-stroke motor scooters in stock and can be legally sold in the Untied States. Cobra Powersports, the US Distributor for TGB scooters, motorcycles and ATVs (all-terrain vehicles), obtained 2006 EPA Certification for its TGB 49cc 2-stroke on November 21, 2005, long before its competitors and now with 2007 EPA Certification, Cobra Powersports is leading the way into 2007.

Cobra Powersports and TGB are confident that they will also secure EPA Certification for 2008 models, even the powerful 2-stroke 49cc scooters. In the past, motorcycles and scooters with an engine displacement of under 50cc's were exempt from EPA Certification. The rules changed for model year 2006 and now all motorcycles and scooters have to be tested and certified under The United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) Onroad Motorcycle rules. These changes affect importing and manufacturing motorcycles with a displacement of under 50cc's and made it much more difficult for a 2-stroke engine to be able to sold in the USA. Many manufacturers have switched to using less powerful 4-stroke 49cc engines on their scooters.

"2-stroke engines are more powerful and require less maintenance than a 4-stroke engine," said Ed Hyslip, Director of Service for Cobra Powersports. Mr. Hyslip adds, "we sold many more scooters in the first 9 months of 2006 than we did in 2005 and this is because we have the most powerful 49cc scooter."

Cobra Powersports provides an industry leading 2-year, Unlimited Mile Warranty for all TGB scooters.
