New York Schools OK Book that Teaches Piano in a New York Minute

New York City Schools have approved "The Rockmaster System" for the classroom, the revolutionary new keyboard instruction book that teaches people to play songs in minutes. The innovative NYC School System joins the U.S. Patent Office in acknowledging the ground-breaking book, which was recently awarded a rare patent in the piano field.

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 14, 2006 -- The New York City School System has approved "The Rockmaster System" for the classroom, the revolutionary new keyboard instruction book that teaches people to play songs in minutes.

The innovative NYC School System joins the U.S. Patent Office in acknowledging this ground-breaking book, whose formula is considered so original that it was recently awarded a rare patent in the piano field -- where little has changed in decades except for electronic hardware.

The book draws on the visual way the brain thinks, just as it is easier to remember a pattern or read a graph than memorize the numbers involved.

"I'm thrilled and honored the New York City School System has seen fit to approve the book and its unique new system," said author Winston Harrison, of Brooklyn, NY. "NYC Schools' reputation as a progressive and pioneering body is well deserved."

The easy-to-use book, "The RockMaster System: Rock Oriented Chords to the Keyboard" is available to everyone for $14.95 from online bookstores such as Amazon.com and Atlasbooks.com or directly from the RockMaster website (www.therockmastersystem.com).

While it not designed to replace any existing textbooks or curriculums, it is hoped that by quickly learning to play their favorite songs and create their own tunes, students will stay keen on keyboards while learning traditional technique. "There is nothing wrong with playing a song while you are learning," Harrison said. "It keeps people interested longer and motivates them. Otherwise it can get boring."

The book was written for beginners of all ages. People don't have to be in school or taking lessons to benefit, it is for anyone who wants to play for family and friends. Keyboard instruments are expected to be under a record number of Christmas trees this holiday season, adding to the 21 million keyboard players already in the U.S.

"The Rockmaster System" presents patterns and simple connections that hold even on "difficult" chord changes and with the same ease, no matter the key. Other benefits include the ability to practice anytime, anywhere: you don't need a block of time or keyboard.

Harrison added that the timing couldn't be better. "The keyboard now challenges the guitar as the instrument of choice. Electronic keyboards now offer similar affordability and portability, and 'RockMaster' makes it easy-to-learn."

Harrison, who is currently adapting his formula for a book on four-part harmonies, concluded, "What I like best about 'The RockMaster System' is that you don't need prior knowledge, just the desire to play. The patent office thought it was useful enough to award a patent as an improvement on what is out there."
