Gregory Banks Shares His Experiences as a Writer Living with a Brittle Bone Disease

A Writer's Journey in Poetry & Prose by Gregory Bernard Banks is an exploration of the author's growth as an author, poet, artist, and human being--A Writer's Journey in Poetry & Prose (ISBN 978-1-84728-901-8, Trade paperback, 228 pp, 6 x 9, $19.95).

Stockbridge, GA (PRWEB) December 11, 2006 -- More accustomed to exploring life and all it encompasses through his fiction, author Gregory Bernard Banks has published his first nonfiction book, A Writer's Journey in Poetry & Prose. Part memoir, part journal, and part anthology of his own writing and art, Banks takes us on a journey mostly focused upon the last ten years of his life, when he experienced his biggest growth both spiritually and emotionally, and tells how it coincides with his development as a writer. The book not only shares some of Banks' personal experiences living with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a brittle bone disease, but also gives insight into how his life experiences contributed to his development as a writer, along with the lessons he learned along the way.

As Julie Dawson, owner of Bards and Sages Publishing, says: "The world seems full of people who have things happen to them that prevent them from living their dreams...These are the same folks who stare blankly in amazement of someone like Gregory Bernard Banks, because they cannot fathom in their own minds how someone who has spent his entire life in a wheelchair, suffering from Osteogenesis Imperfecta (a brittle bone disorder), manages to not only survive but happily thrive..."

Banks is co-Webmaster for the Speculative Literature Foundation (www.speculativeliterature.org/), and is both a Community Leader and freelance graphic designer at Lulu.com. He's a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP), and is a frequent contributor to Audacity Magazine (AudacityMagazine.com) with his column, "A Sedentary View".

This is the third book published through Banks' own publishing imprint, WheelMan Press. His other two books are the short story collections Crossroads and Other Tales, and the highly acclaimed Phoenix Tales: Stories of Death & Life.

A Writer's Journey in Poetry & Prose is available directly from WheelMan Press (www.wheelmanpress.com) via the book's printer/distributor, Lulu.com, as well as from most major book retailers worldwide. For more information, or to schedule an interview, contact Gregory Bank by phone at 404-551-9805, or via email.
