Independent Music Links Announces Launch of Independent Music Promotion Site

"Pixel Advertising" concept adopted to promote bands of all genres from around the world.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 6, 2006 -- Independentmusiclinks.com, an innovative new Internet music promotion site, has officially launched. The site’s primary objective is to help independent artists gain exposure and increase their website traffic by offering promotional “pixel blocks” that link directly to the band’s web site. For a onetime fee of $70, artists purchase a 50 by 50 block of pixels on any of the genre pages found on Independentmusiclinks.com, ranging from Jazz to heavy metal to urban to spoken word. The artist provides graphics -- album art, logo, etc. -- and the graphic is loaded onto the page and linked to the artist’s website. Independentmusiclinks.com visitors simply browse the 27 genre pages, hover over the grid of pixels to read a brief description of the artist, and may click on any block to be instantly linked to that artist’s web site. Per the terms of the contract, pixels will remain active on Independentmusiclinks for a minimum of six years.

Independentmusiclinks.com founder Steven Cravis is a musician himself— an accomplished pianist and composer with many New Age/ambient/releases to his name. Cravis took his cue for independentmusiclinks.com from the growing popularity of “pixel advertising” sites such as milliondollarhomepage.com from Alex Tew, and pinkmilliondollars.com, services which he had tried himself. “My web site ranking went up so significantly that I was inspired to start a site that would be geared towards promoting independent musicians.” He envisioned a site where pixels would measure a generous 50x50, not only creating an interesting tapestry of independent music images, but also offering musicians an affordable alternative to sites offering a fraction of the size for a much higher price. As an added incentive, “The first 800 artists to sign up will also be placed on the home page as well as their genre page, for even more exposure,” offers Cravis. “I’m confident that Independentmusiclinks.com is going to become one of the most highly-trafficked sites of its kind!”
