Quanna, Lord up above, DJ depends on life in the last great northern frontier. Born in Seward, Alaska. Transported to White Mountain, Alaska, 75 miles southeast of Nome, Alaska. Along the Fish River. Ahgalliamiut meaning Fish River People/Tribe. At age four and half, moved back to Seward, Qutekcak (big beach). Growing more to know of her Mom's other land at the foot and on her sweetheart ridge in Seward. DJ's legends all stem from all over Alaska, but usally main streaming these areas mentioned.
She grew up in the Ahgalliamiut ways as baby, toddler, in traditional life and moved to a harsher part of her land. She spoke other lanuages, then wasn't allowed to speak anything but English. That is why she says it was a harsher land than what she was used to. Bunningiee made a promise to her great-grama & grama she would one day write a book, and she kept that promise. DJ knows once you read her books, you'll be fascinated learning more of this Alaska and it's many peoples, and legends. It will touch your heart and mind. DJ's legends very for all ages as well as females to males. They are of cooking, sewing, gardening, hunting, fishing, waters, animals-land and water, daily life. For her way is the subsistance way.
Which to her is eating, breathing, hearing, laughing, touching, seeing, smelling, travel, growing, crying, learning, doing your best, sighing, remembering, adding, subtracting, dividing, neeluking, muliplying, changing, best X's not good enough, ice, caring, working, sharing, poems, legends, recipes, hunting, fishing, healing way of living. Will continue to breathe this way of life untill her time to move to soft lands and waters of her Whale hunters, hunters already moved there, heaven!
