Carlsbad, CA (PRWEB) April 12, 2006 -- Nineteen-year-old "Lil Ray" Neff knows what it takes to win. Growing up a typical So. Cal coastal kid and competing and winning five SCORE off-road racing class championships since age 14, Lil' Ray has always had a desire to win.

A third generation fabricator he's been trained and to carry on the family tradition of creating and building some of the most unbelievable race cars, custom hot rods and custom bikes. "Working in the garage, fixing bikes, buggies, lawn mowers, go-karts, shovels: you name it, I've fixed it!" exclaims Ray, "Sounds like work to some, but to me it's all fun and a way to spend time doing something that I love. I hope someday to earn my living making peoples dreams become a reality.

Working in the garage, fixing bikes, buggies, lawn mowers, go-karts, shovels: you name it, I've fixed it!
Don't let this "Opie Taylor" "aw-shucks" attitude fool you. A Carlsbad High graduate in 2004, Lil' Ray has been wrenching since he was a child. Three generations of Neff's, Grandfather Ray F. Neff and father Ray G. Neff provide a bloodline of talented fabricators. Veteran Harley builder, Pat Kennedy www.kennedyschopper.com acquired his welding and fabricating skills from the Neff family. Utilizing a wealth of education and experience, "Lil' Ray" has accomplished award winning success for his age. In the DARPA Grand Challenge, http://www.darpa.mil/grandchallenge/,
lead fabricator for the team that brought local business owner Josh Bernheim's DARPA unmanned vehicle dream to fruition.

In spring 2005, Lil' Ray, with the encouragement of "Baron" John Vaughan- Chaldy from Baron's Custom Accessories of Fallbrook, CA www.baronscustom.com , submitted an application for the Rookie Class to compete on the new "Metric Revolution" www.metrictv.com television series. Beginning at Biketoberfest 2005, each contestant received a stock metric motorcycle which they were challenged with stripping down and rebuilding into a radical custom motorcycle. The 180-day competition period is winding down, and 18 professionals and 4 rookies struggle to meet their dead lines. The drama explodes as producers embrace the national audience to join them on this progress-report tour.
