The Use of XBRL in Financial Reporting: An SEC Perspective

Corey Booth, CIO, SEC discusses the efforts the SEC has made to encourage the adoption of XBRL and the effect it will have on financial reporting and the decision-making process.

(PRWEB / PRWEB) April 28, 2006 -- Web conference on XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language)
Featuring Corey Booth, CIO, US Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC)

In a free Xtalks web conference on June 16, 2006, Corey Booth, CIO, US Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), will discuss eXtensible Business Reporting Language.

Xtalks is pleased to present the XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) Web Conference.

In March 2006 the SEC announced that 17 companies have joined the pilot program to use interactive data in their financial statement filings. The companies will help the agency explore how Internet based reporting can improve the financial reporting process for investors, intermediaries, the SEC and the companies themselves.

Businesses are looking for faster and smarter ways to make decisions based on financial data. By adopting XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) in their business and financial reporting, organizations enable financial analysts, preparers, investors, and government agencies to access, compare, and analyze the data in ways currently not possible.

Join Corey Booth, CIO, of the SEC as he discusses the efforts the SEC has made to encourage the adoption of XBRL and the effect it will have on financial reporting and the decision-making process.

The web conference is sponsored by UBMatrix, who will host a workshop following the keynote presentation and before the Q&A session.
