Original oil paintings by artist Ron Anderson presented in The Ohio State University Faculty Club exhibit "Moments: Paintings by Ron Anderson" in Columbus, Ohio.

(PRWEB) May 5, 2006 -- The Ohio State University Faculty Club is presenting an exhibition of original oil paintings by artist Ron Anderson. The exhibit is displayed at the Faculty Club and is entitled “Moments: Paintings by Ron Anderson.”

"Moments” opens with a reception on Thursday, May 11, 2006 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and the show runs until June 23, 2006. The exhibition is open to the public. Ron selected paintings for this show that depict a dynamic moment or event similar to a snapshot of a moment in time.

Ron Anderson is the Columbus painter who completed six commissioned works at the newly restored Supreme Court of Ohio. He will be featured in a one-man exhibition at The O.S.U. Faculty Club. Ron is an oil painter and an art educator in Columbus, Ohio. He teaches commercial art at the Columbus College of Art & Design and for Columbus Public Schools.

Previous art commissions include an original painting commissioned for the Absolut Spirits, 3rd annual art collection and two portraits housed in the George Washington Williams Memorial room at the Ohio Statehouse.

He completed the installation of his triptych entitled “Cargo” in 2005 that is the featured centerpiece of the interactive exhibit “Cargo: The Middle Passage.” This exhibit is permanently installed at the King Arts Complex in Columbus, Ohio.

The King Arts Complex was the 2006 recipient of the $10,000.00 Greater Columbus Arts Council “Artistic Excellence” Award for the “Cargo” exhibit.
