Historic Newspaper Articles at RonaldReaganArchive.com Document the Life of President Reagan

NewspaperARCHIVE.com releases site honoring Reagan almost two years after his death.

(PRWEB) May 18, 2006 -- NewspaperARCHIVE.com, the largest online newspaper database, has just released RonaldReaganArchive.com. This free site tells the story of Reagan's life as an actor in Hollywood, his role as governor of California and president of the United States with more than 45,000 original newspaper pages.

The newspaper articles in the archive also describe many of Reagan's presidential decisions, such as the appointment of the first female Supreme Court Judge, Sandra Day O'Connor, and the economic policies that Reagan implemented to help pull the nation out of a recession.

"Researchers and students will be amazed at the archive's content," said Jeff Kiley, Director of Sales and Marketing for NewspaperARCHIVE.com. "Whether they're researching Reagan's early life or just want to read about the announcement revealing his battle with Alzheimer's, they can find it in the archive."

Users of the free site can quickly access historical articles about Ronald Reagan by simply searching key words and dates. For example, if researchers are interested in Reagan's presidency, more than 20,000 newspaper pages are available by just entering the keyword "presidency." Publication dates can also be used to narrow the search.

In addition to the archive, the website features a biography and brief timeline of Ronald Reagan's life, as it was told through newspaper accounts. For example, the timeline reads that on March 30, 1981, the president was shot outside a Washington hotel by John Hinckley Jr. The timeline also provides a link that allows the archive's users to read an article on the assassination attempt.

RonaldReaganArchive.com is just one of 20 free sites provided by NewspaperARCHIVE.com. Other sites include KennedyAssassinationArchive.com and AbrahamLincolnArchive.com. Researchers interested in finding more information about Ronald Reagan or other presidents can also visit NewspaperARCHIVE.com, where there are more than 33 million newspaper pages and one new newspaper page added every second. As the largest newspaper database available online, NewspaperARCHIVE.com is owned by Heritage Microfilm and began in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1999.
