Limited Edition Custom Motorcycle to Benefit the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum

A limited edition custom motorcycle honoring the world famous Texas Rangers and benefitting the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum will premier Friday, June 2, 2006 in Waco, TX.

Waco, TX (PRWEB) June 1, 2006 -- LDT Customs, Inc., will honor the Texas Rangers heritage with a limited edition custom motorcycle commemorating the legendary lawmen. Approved by an advisory panel of active and retired Rangers and the Texas Hall of Fame and Museum, the bike will be unveiled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2006, during the annual Ranger Reunion, a private two-day event held at the museum in Waco, Texas.

LDT Customs, Inc., has been granted licensing privileges by the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum to produce the limited edition pro-street bike. The company plans to limit production of the silver series to 100 bikes. A donation from each sale will go to the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum. Each individual or corporate purchaser will receive a certificate from the museum, signed by an acting or retired Captain of the Texas Rangers. The buyer's name will also be engraved on a plaque to be displayed at the museum.

The bike numbered 1 in the series will be on display at the museum until late July. As a special benefit for the museum, the bike will be auctioned (with reserve) to the highest bidder. For bid information visit the LDT Customs Web site: www.ldtcustoms.com. The successful bidder will receive round-trip airfare for two to Waco, accommodations and limousine service to the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, where the bike will be presented on behalf of the museum by an acting captain of the Texas Rangers and builder Mike Phillips of Grandeur Cycles.

“If this project is the success we expect, it will collectively be one of the largest cash donations made to the museum,” said Fred Hathorn, LDT president. “Purchasers of the bike should feel proud to be part of a project that is helping to preserve the unique American heritage of the Texas Rangers.”

Hathorn continued, “The bike lives up to the reputation of the Ranger legacy with a no-nonsense TP polished 121 motor, Baker right-side drive 6-speed transmission, Mean Street front end and BDL open primary drive.” Other features that make the bike stand out as a lone ranger are the custom paint, Winchester-style lever action brake and clutch levers, custom chrome rims and a one-of-a-kind handmade “saddle” for this horse by third generation master saddler Phil Harris and master craftsman Mike Parks of Harris Leather and Silverworks.

The package is enhanced with a super auto clutch designed by builder Mike Phillips of Grandeur Cycles. This clutch won the V-Twin Excellence Award for the 2006 Tech Product of the Year. A bike builder for many years, Phillips became a federally licensed motorcycle builder in 2000. His bikes have been featured in such popular motorcycle magazines as Hot Bike, Street Chopper, Hot Rod Bike, American Iron, Biker, Easyriders, V-Twin and many European publications, as well as the hard cover book, “The Ultimate Guide to Choppers.” Phillips and his machines have also appeared on numerous TV shows. “We are very excited and proud to be part of a project that benefits the official historical center of the Texas Rangers law enforcement agency,” he said.

The unique custom motorcycle can be seen on the following Web sites after Monday, June 5, 2006: http://www.ldtcustoms.com, http://www.grandeurcycle.com, and http://www.texasranger.org.
