Green Musician John Romano Launches Ethanol Information Website

Los Angeles based musician John Romano, whose last hit "Green Girl" landed at #21 on FMQB's adult contemporary radio chart, has launched an ethanol information website - www.e85-now.com. According to Mr. Romano awareness of E85 as an alternative to oil is critical for its success. "Awareness spurs demand and demand spurs innovation. GM already markets cars that can run on E85. That to me is real progress, besides the original Ford Model T ran on either gas or ethanol. Really we are just returning to our energy roots with E85," Mr. Romano said.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB / PRWEB) June 27, 2006 -- Los Angeles based musician John Romano, whose last hit "Green Girl" landed at #21 on FMQB's adult contemporary radio chart, has launched an ethanol information website - www.e85-now.com.

According to Mr. Romano awareness of E85 as an alternative to oil is critical for its success. "Awareness spurs demand and demand spurs innovation. GM already markets cars that can run on E85. That to me is real progress, besides, the original Ford Model T ran on either gas or ethanol. Really we are just returning to our energy roots with E85," Mr. Romano said.

E85 is a clean-burning fuel made with 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. Currently there are over 600 filling stations in the U.S. that distribute E85 fuel, primarily in Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota. Typically E85 cars can run on E85 or traditional unleaded gasoline. General Motors has taken the lead in producing E85 powered cars, with seven vehicle styles currently in production. Ford has countered with five E85 vehicles of its own. This year, race cars at the Indianapolis 500 ran on E10 fuel, and race organizers intend on using E100 or pure ethanol in next year's race.

Mr. Romano stated, "We are a ways off from switching away from oil to anything else, and there are definite refining and distribution issues to work out, but the future looks promising."

As to why he started the site, Mr. Romano states "instead of placing blame for our dependence on oil, I'd rather help the situation the best I can."

Mr. Romano's song "Green Girl" is available as a free download this month at www.e85-now.com
