Myrtle Beach Pavilion’s Farewell Season Commemorated with Limited Edition “Harry Love” Watercolor Print
Signed and numbered print is the only work of art commissioned by Burroughs & Chapin to commemorate The Pavilion’s Farewell Season.
Myrtle Beach, SC (PRWEB) July 14, 2006 -- A limited edition watercolor print commemorating The Myrtle Beach Pavilion’s Farewell Season is now available. Created by local artist Harry Love, the painting is a reminder of days gone by. It pictures the landmark Pavilion building, surrounded by vignettes of several rides and other entertainment offered at the amusement park over the years.
Of the 500 prints created of this painting, only 249 are available. Once they are gone, no more will be authorized. The prints cost $40 each and are numbered and signed by the artist. They can be purchased at The Pavilion Farewell Season Shoppe, located inside the park, and the Franklin G. Burroughs - Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum.
“Harry was chosen to create this piece because he is a respected artist and he has a natural feel for both Myrtle Beach’s atmosphere and attitude,” said Tim Ruedy, vice president of operations for Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc.’s sports, entertainment & recreation division. “He has captured the life of The Pavilion beautifully in this watercolor, and it will be a wonderful keepsake for those who cherish memories of The Pavilion.”
Love is originally from New York and has traveled around the world twice. A former World War II pilot who retired from a prestigious law career, Love has spent the last 20 years as a watercolor/portrait artist. His works can be found displayed in businesses, offices and homes up and down the Grand Strand. In addition, he is well known for devoting much of his personal time to furthering the cause of cultural arts, having been appointed by Governor Sanford to the nine-member South Carolina Arts Commission.
“I was honored to be asked to create this piece,” said Love. “I have a deep fondness for the area and many great memories of The Pavilion. I hope this painting will entice others to remember the good times they had at the park.”
