Capella University Awards 2006 Corporate Alliance Scholarships
Five $10,000 scholarship winners selected from 206 applications.
Minneapolis (PRWEB) August 9, 2006 -- Capella University, an accredited online university and pioneer in online education, awarded $10,000 corporate scholarships to five applicants from such companies as Wells Fargo, Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation, Wachovia, and Centra Health.
Applicants were selected based on their personal strengths and goals, their proficiency with internet and technology, and their community involvement. The scholarship opportunity was available to corporations participating in Capella’s alliance program, and 31 companies participated. More than 200 applications were submitted and the winners were chosen in May.
Brian Blackwell from Centra Health, Jeff Hart from Pilgrim’s Pride, and Donna Castorina from Wachovia were enrolled at Capella before applying for the scholarship. The other two winners, including Nathan Akers of Wells Fargo, enrolled in Capella after receiving the scholarship.
