Eye-Popping Prices for Boomer Generation Guitars and Gizmos

Some of the biggest fans of American made guitars are the Boomer generation who grew up on 1970s music and now have the money to splurge on guitars and other music gear gizmos, says Kevin Kopec, promoter of Guitarshows.com.

(PRWEB) August 24, 2006 -- Some of the biggest fans of American made guitars are the Boomer generation who grew up on 1970s music and now have the money to splurge on guitars and other music gear gizmos, says Kevin Kopec, promoter of Guitarshows.com.

"Some of these consumers own five, 10, 20 guitars because they're collecting and reconnecting with their childhood toys. They're collecting for the love of collecting, also realizing that they are making sound investments," he said during a recent interview.

Our events are face to face off line marketplaces where hundreds of collectors and dealers regionally converge to overcome the sight unseen nature of internet trading. It’s safe, efficient and rewarding for the participants
The biggest draw is its older models of Fenders and Gibson’s on secondhand and collectors markets, where they command eye-popping prices. The value comes in the fine craftsmanship and the guitar’s sound as well as its limited production. Compared to other fine collectibles like paintings the guitar and associated gizmos are playable collectibles. Some earlier guitars are fetching six figures in the collector markets and savvy pickers are still discovering gold in attics, closets and basements. The collecting craze is still in its infancy; fueled in the last 10 years by EBay and other auction houses. However, another aesthetic to consider is the touch, feel and physical inspection of these instruments; this is where Guitarshows.com comes into the picture.

Guitarshows.com has been producing Guitar shows and Festivals called Musician and hobbyists networking events where private collectors, individuals and vendors put on display and for sale some of the most sought after pieces. It’s a guitar show and swap meet all in one. This venue allows for buying, selling and trading of these American collectible icons in a safe public environment. Often time’s heirloom instruments walk through the door and potential sellers meet anxious buyers.

In addition to Guitars the Guitarshows.com events are a face to face marketplace for the burgeoning vintage and used/recycled market for amplifiers, effects, vintage drums, keyboards, audio and essentially any music related merchandise. Many vendors that specialize in restoration services and appraisals frequent these events.

“Our events are face to face off line marketplaces where hundreds of collectors and dealers regionally converge to overcome the sight unseen nature of internet trading. It’s safe, efficient and rewarding for the participants,” said Kopec.

If you are uneasy about spending $10,000 on your next collector guitar through internet channels then visit a Guitarshows.com event. After show communication and community is held in place through a well connected web community consisting of print, online gear search databases and interactive forums.

Since 1993 Guitarshows.com has produced shows in 14 states on the East Coast and New England. Plans are in place to expand the business model rapidly across the US in 2007. Their first large scale 3 day regional show will debut in Boston next year. The next one day networking event is in Portland Maine in mid September.
