Motorcyclists Promote Secure Borders
An estimated 200 American Freedom Riders will ride their motorcycles from Phoenix to Pine, Saturday, Aug. 26th to increase awareness of the consequences of continued illegal immigration.
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) August 25, 2006 -- An estimated 200 American Freedom Riders will ride their motorcycles from Phoenix to Pine, Saturday, Aug. 26th to increase awareness of the consequences of continued illegal immigration.
The caravan of riders, escorted by DPS officers, will depart from Childress Auto Mall, 2223 W. Camelback Road in Phoenix at 9 a.m. and continue to Jake’s Corner for lunch, then proceed to Sidewinder’s in Pine, AZ.
Gates at Childress Auto Mall will open at 7 a.m. Congressman J.D. Hayworth, Rep. Russell Pearce, Don Goldwater and Al Rodriguez are scheduled to speak at 8 a.m. Congressman Hayworth (R-AZ) represents Arizona’s 5th District, Rep. Pearce (R-AZ) of Mesa represents District 18, Goldwater is running in the Republican Primary for Governor, and Rodriguez is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and spokesman for the anti-illegal immigration coalition, “You Don’t Speak For Me!”
“The American Freedom Riders are hard working, tax paying American citizens who believe in the rule of law and the principles that made this nation great,” said Danny Smith, who, along with Rusty Childress, formed the American Freedom Riders. “We believe the time has come to aggressively combat the catastrophic consequences of continued illegal immigration. We are looking for individuals who harbor no racist or extremist attitudes and are not opposed to legal immigration, but rather bikers who oppose illegal immigration and who want to have their voices heard, to join us in our Ride for Secure Borders”.
Smith said the group’s mission combines the urgency to stop the adverse social and economic effects of illegal immigration with their passion for riding the open road.
