BEMIDJI, MN (PRWEB) September 1, 2006 -- Kathy Jarvis finished in first after two long days and nights of rally racing on the roads of Bemidji, Minnesota. She came off a first place win at the Maine Forest Rally and was determined to do it again. She accomplished her goal in her 2nd National Rally Race.
“These roads are definitely fun and extremely challenging, but there is nothing smooth about them. I’m racing a two-wheel drive production class car and chasing after the 4 wheel drive 300+ horsepower cars who like to ditch hook,” said Kathy changing a tire she destroyed over a jump. She’s in a front wheel drive VW golf and loves it. “The best rally drivers started in front wheel drive cars, because they teach you how to drive … If you can master the craft in a Golf, you are on your way to becoming an overall rally champion,” said five-time rally champion Tim O’Neil.
Kathy had never seen a rally before she bought and prepped her Golf. But after attending Team O’Neil Rally School earlier this year and always wanting to race cars she decided to make her dream a reality. Now she is living her dream, and founded femmefatale motorsports to encourage other woman to expand their horizons and pursue their dreams. She has become a fan favorite at the events with her blue and Pink Golf and her mission to lead by example.
Even though Kathy crashes cars in feature films and television shows she has managed to keep the shiny side up in the National Rally America series. And hopes to continue her podium finishes in her production VW Golf in the final three races of 2006. “This is my first year racing and only my 3rd Rally Race and the amount to learn is mind numbing.” “My goal is to continue to do my best by keeping the Golf on the road and across the finish line”, Kathy said sipping Champagne in the Winners Circle. She is a little nervous about the high elevation of Colorado, where round 7 of the National Rally America series will be held in late September, but she is taking her Golf there with the intention on driving to a hat trick.
