Bartlett, Tenn. (PRWEB) September 9, 2006 -- Hypertech’s new Power Programmer #30003 and HyperPAC #83005 give a serious performance boost to 2006 GM C/K 2500/3500 trucks equipped with 6.6-liter Duramax turbo diesel engines. The new Power Tuning programs developed by Hypertech's R&D team deliver gains of up to 95 horsepower and 178 ft.-lbs. of torque without even opening the hood.

Hypertech’s exclusive Power Tuning calibrations are the most powerful street-legal tuning available for this application. The Power Programmer and HyperPAC for 2006 Duramax diesels feature 3-Stage Tuning that allows truck owners to select one of three power curves: Stage 1 (+46 hp, +88 ft.-lbs.), Stage 2 (+62 hp, +120 ft.- lbs.) and Stage 3 (+95 hp, +178 ft.-lbs.). Even Stage 3 tuning, the most powerful option, can be used while towing the maximum weight recommended by the manufacturer. With more power in reserve and less frequent downshifts, many Duramax owners report significant improvements in fuel mileage.

Hypertech’s exclusive Power Tuning calibrations were developed on computerized dynamometers and road tested under real-world driving conditions. Power Tuning can be installed in minutes – without tools or knowledge of computers. The stock tuning is stored in memory and can be restored at any time.

The Power Programmer and HyperPAC for Duramax diesels also allows truck owners who have installed non-stock tires (26 to 36-inch diameter) and non-stock rear axles ratios (3.23:1 to 4.10:1) to correct the speedometer and odometer readings. The top speed limiter can be adjusted for factory-approved speed-rated tires. Both devices read and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) stored in the onboard computer, eliminating the need for expensive diagnostic scan tools.

The powerful HyperPAC performance automotive computer also includes Drag Strip, Dynamometer, Gauges and Diagnostics functions. Available plug-in modules further extend the HyperPAC's impressive capabilities.

Founded in 1986, Hypertech is the world leader in high-performance engine tuning products for computer-controlled vehicles. Information on the complete line of Hypertech Power Tuning products is available from Hypertech, 3215 Appling Rd., Bartlett, TN 38133, phone 901-382-8888, at the company’s website, www.hypertech.com, www.hyperpac.com.
