Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 12, 2006 -- McDonald Media is pleased to announce the debut of Depictions -- a body of unique photo illustrative art by Atlanta-based artist Rob McDonald. McDonald’s Depictions combine photography with computer-designed illustrations and enhancements. There are two series in the current Depictions collection. They are “Odyssey” and “Old World.”

McDonald’s images begin with a digital capture and are then intertwined with contemporary artistic impressions. The final composition is more than just a photo, more than a painting -- it becomes a depiction of the artist’s thoughts and feelings about the subject matter.

Vivid colors and fluid strokes prevail in the “Odyssey” collection. In each composition, McDonald brings flowing movement to static objects, infusing them with a sense of life and visually translating the emotions generated by the subject matter.

In the “Old World” series, McDonald combines well-focused color and realistic subject matter to present a familiar yet ideal image. The colors blend into the background’s warm and inviting organic tones.

In both series, the artist finds inspiration in minute details. Each piece presents his unique impressions of these details through engaging compositions that will rouse thoughtful emotion in the viewer.

All Images are printed on archival quality canvas. Initial edition sizes are limited to 200 pieces. Prices range from $500 to $800 for signed, numbered limited editions. Mini giclees are also available and are signed, but are not limited editions. Prices for mini’s range from $95 to $125 each.

As a successful, Atlanta-based commercial photographer for more than three decades, Rob McDonald turned his attention to artistic pursuits in 2001 after somewhat reluctantly moving into the digital age. Rob’s unique visual expressions are created with traditional photographic methods infused with layers of digital painting and artistic manipulation. At their heart, these images reflect Rob’s love of life and the finer things -- including food, wine and travel.
