Blackwater’s Counter-Piracy Team Partners With U. S. Merchant Marine Academy to Conduct Live Demonstration for the U. S. Maritime Security Expo.

Camden County, NC (PRWEB) September 15, 2006 -- Blackwater Maritime Security Solutions (BMSS), in conjunction with the U. S. Merchant Marine Academy’s Global Maritime and Transportation School (GMATS) will conduct a live counter-piracy demonstration aboard the Training Vessel Kings Pointer at 2:30 p.m. at Kings Point, Long Island to support the U. S. Maritime Security Expo being held in New York City, September 19-20, 2006.

Each year, modern piracy accounts for hundreds of deaths and nearly $16 billion in economic loss around the world. Blackwater Maritime Security Solutions’ Counter-Piracy Team was created to prevent and defeat these piracy events.

This unique capabilities demonstration will include both helicopterborne and waterborne assaults of the ship and will be supported by a Command & Control (C2) helicopter, complete with a maritime designated marksman team.
