Screenwriter and Author Scott Macom is the Talk of Hollywood with His Adaptation of Buck Fever

Macom's book, Buck Fever has Hollywood's A List standing in line to for a chance to be attached to his best seller.

(PRWEB) September 17, 2006 -- The newest and hottest screenwriter on the Hollywood scene is Jersey based author Scott Macom. Macom, who has drawn attention in the past with his earlier books, Honor Before Greed and The Devil Leeds has seemingly hit a home run with his incredibly funny and self-effacing tale, Buck Fever. Macom, a Philadephia native grew up in the coal regions of Pennsylvania and graduated Villanova University with high honors.

An avid hunter himself , Macom found the inspiration and the humor in Buck Fever was drawn right from his own experiences. Initially, the screenplay was written with Vince Vaughn and Larry the Cable Guy in mind for the leads, but so many agents have pitched their clients to Macom for consideration, the casting process is still in the works. Macom takes it all in stride. Having once been a stock broker in Manhattan he is used to the hustle and bustle that can come with a Hollywood project. Now, a lawyer in private practice, Macom feels he'd like to become a full time author and screen writer if his talent takes him all the way.

Besides the interest in Buck Fever there have also been inquiries about making Honor before Greed and The Devil Leeds in to feature films. One studio in particular has made an offer for all 3 properties but Macom feels he would lose creative control if he took this deal. Currently, Macom is also working on writing a Broadway treatment that would bring the sound of the 50's back to Broadway and initiate the re-release of a popular 1982 cult movie classic. As modest as he is talented, Scott Macom seems destined for big things in Hollywood. He's not really an optimist but he and wife Kellie have been looking at real estate in the Beverly Hills area. Homes are extremely costly there, but something says that he is going to be able to afford one. Scott Macom's star is certainly on the rise.
