Capella University Faculty Member Named Forensic Psychology Series Editor for Praeger Publishing

Dr. Duane Dobbert, an adjunct faculty member in the online university’s School of Human Services, has set the goal of producing 50 new titles in the next five years

Minneapolis (PRWEB) September 17, 2006 -- Praeger Publishing has named Dr. Duane Dobbert to the position of Forensic Psychology Series Editor. Dobbert, who also serves as an adjunct faculty member in Capella University’s human services online degree program, will be responsible for establishing a new series of books, the approval of manuscripts, as well as the identification and solicitation of authors and editors. The position is a career-long appointment. According to Dobbert, he has set the goal of producing 50 new titles in the next five years.

“To be recognized by one of the most respected publishers in the field of forensic psychology is certainly an honor. I am thrilled to be able to lend my skills and expertise to the titles Praeger produces,” Dobbert said.

Praeger Publishing, an imprint of Greenwood Publishing, is considered one of the leading publishers of titles relating to social sciences and the humanities.

In 2004, Praeger published Dobbert’s book, "Halting the Sexual Predators Among Us,” which received national and international recognition, including an endorsement in Oxford's British Journal of Criminology.

Dobbert, who lives in Naples, Florida, has been a faculty member at Capella University (www.capella.edu), an accredited online university and a leader in online education, for the past six years. He has authored several PhD courses and has chaired 19 comprehensive and dissertation committees. He also earned his PhD from Capella in 2000. More than 70 percent of all Capella faculty—including both full- and part-time—hold doctoral degrees.
