New York, NY (PRWEB) September 23, 2006 -- Emerging NYC artist, Laurance Rassin opens showroom in West Chelsea. Laurance is featuring his contemporary expressionistic works, fashion forward women’s accessories and lingerie, and custom designed furniture. Laurance hopes to make his space an art hub for noted interior designers, industry enthusiasts, and trendy Manhattanites.
Laurance’s works were recently featured in The Hampton Designer Showhouse presented by House & Garden Magazine. Pieces were placed both in the foyer of the downstairs and spotlighted in a true artist’s atelier upstairs with an easel and painter’s station. You may have also seen his pieces in the pages of Women’s Wear Daily and from October 6th – the 11th at the International Art + Design Fair held at the 7th Regiment Armory, in NYC, NY.
Laurance’s paintings are individual portraits and interiors using chunks of iridescent color that from a distance tell a story. Layer upon layer of paint (sometimes exceeding over 50 at a time) add to creating a sculpted texture. Art industry professionals have related his works to those of Matisse, Dubuffet, and Picasso.
