Trident Systems Inc. Awarded a $4.2M Contract to Develop a 'Toolbox' of Tactical Wireless Nodes in Support of Navy and USSOCOM Requirements

Trident's family of tactical wireless products are designed to be rugged, lightweight, and waterproof to meet the demands of Special Operational Forces -- operating in extreme environments where few wireless devices survive. Outfitted with Trident's battlefield-proven technology, ground forces will have better access to situational awareness sensor network information, which significantly increases the capabilities to fight and win the Long War.

Fairfax, VA (PRWEB) September 23, 2006 -- Trident's family of tactical wireless products are designed to be rugged, lightweight, and waterproof to meet the demands of Special Operational Forces -- operating in extreme environments where few wireless devices survive.

Outfitted with Trident's battlefield-proven technology, ground forces will have better access to situational awareness sensor network information, which significantly increases the capabilities to fight and win the Long War.

Trident, www.tridsys.com , anticipates three different wireless nodes: a low data-rate; high-data rate; and long-range node. Each will be compatible with Trident’s product, the Wireless Network Controller (WiNC) that provides the tactical operator the ability to set-up, configure, and access unattended wireless networks, and remotely control networked sensors. Remote control of sensors is possible either through the WiNC or through a tactical or strategic gateway. The WiNC improves operator effectiveness on missions requiring sensor placement and enhances situational awareness for the Special Operations Forces (SOF) warrior. A planning tool to assist SOF pre-mission planning and placement of tactical wireless networks will also be studied.

Naval Sea Systems Command Special Warfare Program Office (PMS-NSW) is overseeing the 18-month effort.

Trident Systems Incorporated (TSI), www.tridsys.com , is a private veteran-owned small business that has been providing hardware and software systems to military and commercial clients since 1985. TSI supports customers ranging from the United States Military Forces to the New York Stock Exchange by harnessing emerging technologies providing innovative affordable products and services that consistently exceed customers' expectations.
