Jihad Joe Controversial Gear

AT cafepress.com/neatographics, you can purchase a printed shirt with "Jihad Joe" imprinted on it. It is a humorous print showing a Jihadist extremist terrorist action figure with accessories. This image has stirred up some controversy and ethical debate on what is allowed when humor may be considered offensive to some.

Jackson, Miss. (PRWEB) September 23, 2006 -- Artist and t-shirt designer, Chuck Jett has created a controversial buzz with a new t-shirt design of his own copyright. The shirt depicts a Jihadist terrorist action figure with terror accessories and heralds the title, "Jihad Joe, Anti-American Hero."

The artist was trying to create a humorous pro-American design by making fun of the extremist Muslim terrorist stereotype which has emerged as America's biggest threat.

"I simply wanted to create and market a design that could help Americans to laugh a little about our terrorist enemies. You can't always hide behind a wall of fear waiting for the next terrorist strike; sometimes you just need to step back and laugh at these terrorist and realize we're dealing with zealots who prey on the ignorance of their own people and use their own countrymen as cannon-fodder to die for hopes of receiving virgins in the afterlife," Chuck states about his creation and how he views religious extremist terrorists.

Many people have, however shown concern that the design portrays people of Arabic origin as terrorists and that it may fan the flames of anti-Arab racism in America.

"It's just a shirt, everyone needs to get over their hyper-sensitivity and learn how to laugh at themselves and each other from time to time. You can look at all the evil in the world and do one of four things: cry, try to make a change for the better, do nothing at all, or laugh about it. I feel the civic responsibility to try to improve my world, but I also feel a need to laugh about it sometimes," said the artist to defend his design.

You can view and/or purchase the "Jihad Joe" design on a variety of shirts and sweats only at www.cafepress.com/neatographics (cafepress.com/neatographics). So, go see for yourself if you find the design to be funny or offensive and e-mail the link to a friend or two.
