Johnsonese Gallery to Market Artworks for The Staubach Company

The Johnsonese Gallery LLC has been hired by The Staubach Company to market a selection of contemporary artworks de-accessioned from its corporate collection in Chicago.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) September 27, 2006 -- The Johnsonese Gallery LLC has been hired by The Staubach Company to market a selection of contemporary artworks de-accessioned from its corporate collection in Chicago.

Included are limited edition, signed prints by well known artists LeRoy Neiman, Kurt Sala and Gil Gorski. Other featured artists are Czech painter Rudolf Svehla and Icelandic master printmaker Valgerdur Haukdotter. Additional included artists are Godwin, Andrews, Casler and Seidenberg. The collection further includes paintings and photographs of specific interest to Chicagoans.

The artworks will be available for view and purchase at the Johnsonese Gallery in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood from November 11 to December 2, 2006. An opening reception will be held on Saturday November 11th from 6 to 8 pm to introduce the collection to the public.

“This show will be a unique opportunity to acquire artworks that have gone through a corporate vetting process,” said Johnsonese Gallery director Christopher Johnson. He added, “I think I’m a little unusual in that I’m an art dealer, but by training I’m also a financial analyst. As an art dealer I love the idea of giving under-seen art a new lease on life. And as a financial analyst, I know the value of generating cash from underutilized assets. So this is a dream project for my gallery.

“For my gallery clients I also think the timing of this show is perfect. Much of this collection is from the 1980’s and I think 80’s art is on the cusp of changing from dated to retro. There is a look to 80’s art—think big, bright and bold. And this collection certainly lives up to that. The largest piece is 77” wide, and you will see lots of bright splashes of color.”
